How are S.T. Dupont products made? The S.T. Dupont collections are designed in France. The main production facility is located in Faverges in the Haute-Savoie department. The pursuit of perfection, a high quality standard and conscientiousness are the foundation of the work of every worker, artisan and technician at S.T. Dupont workshops. The goldsmith's trade played an important role for S.T. Dupont creations. Already at that time the numerous and valuable accessories of travel suitcases were provided with refined goldsmith work. The goldsmith's art includes the processing of precious or rare metals such as gold, silver, palladium or platinum. The work of the goldsmith consists of three steps: the elaboration of the decoration by guilloche, chasing and engraving, the polishing and the plating. The guilloches are engraved with the utmost care in solid brass for guaranteed durability. Backed by his savoir-faire, S.T. Dupont also has the most daring décors from a technical point of view: large polished surfaces on which the smallest flaw would catch the eye, or interrupted guilloches that require the greatest precision. The result of these technical masterpieces are unique, original, modern and, above all, numerous decors: Several hundred decors have already been produced. The lighters, which consist of around 70 parts, require 500 to 600 work steps. The manufacturing cycle generally lasts 4 to 5 months. Each item is unique as the skilled worker who assembles the lighter engraves his initials under the drive roller. These discreetly reflect the pride with which the item was made. The production of a writing instrument requires 140 to 150 work steps for 10 to 20 parts (without replacement leads). The manufacturing cycle generally lasts 2 to 3 months. The brand built its success on leather goods, its original core business. Today S.T. Dupont five leather goods series of very high quality - from the upper to the absolute top class. In pursuit of high quality, S.T. Dupont the best European hides. These skins are worked with great care to combine beauty and resilience. S.T. Dupont works with the largest French, Italian and Spanish manufacturers who are famous for their professional savoir-faire. The quality of the accessories is impeccable. The fine work of gold, palladium or ruthenium is reminiscent of S.T. Dupont's know-how in the field of goldsmithing.
